Capenwray is open all year and is a WADAA member only. There are no Day Tickets available on Capernwray.
Shaped like an inverted keyhole and draining from the northern end into the River Keer, depths vary from a couple of feet to around 8’ in the centre of the main bowl. Fishing is from sunrise to sunset and the site is accessed through a locked gate and has an area for member parking.
The Club stocks regularly with top-quality rainbow trout averaging over 2.5 lbs but with plenty of fish in the 4lb – 8lb bracket.
Capernwray is open all year round* and is for WADAA members only.
*As a result of the increasing impacts that climate change is having on summer trout fishing, WADAA has developed a detailed set of actions, triggered when conditions become critical for fish health. These may result in the temporary and short term closure of venues. Closures will be indicated using the traffic light system on the homepage of the club website and in your MyWADAA account. Further details can be obtained from the club on request.
Fishing is allowed from an hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset.
There are wheelchair-easy access platforms and wheelchair access for anglers.
