At WADAA there is superb fishing for the fly angler on our trout fisheries, Bigland, Capernwray, Farletonview, Ghyll Head, Hall More and High Newton. These waters are well stocked throughout the season and offer the consistent year-round sport. In addition, the club offers top-quality still water fishing on a more natural water at High Fairbanks that will appeal to members looking for quieter venues.
Coarse anglers too are well catered for with some excellent fishing. The club stocks and manages four small tarns, Castlehead, Cleabarrow, Hall More and Ratherheath which hold some sizeable carp together with big tench, bream, roach, perch, rudd, and eels. From 2022 we now offer fishing on a new very special water Skelsmergh. From Easter 2023 we will have the addition of Atkinson’s Tarn. Pike fishing is also high on our members’ agenda with pike in excess of twenty pounds regularly taken from Grasmere and Rydal water.
The club welcomes younger anglers. Further information on all our fisheries, facilities, day tickets and membership can be found on this website but if you need any help at all please don’t hesitate to contact us.
